…POLICE, COMMUNITY ELDERS & MUSLIM THUGS WANT HIM DEAD OR ALIVE

BENIN CITY – The nefarious and illicit act customarily and legally outlawed and classified as tabulous, capable of defying the traditional laws of the land has taking place in Ugbekun Area of Benin City.
According to our reporter, Lucky Efese, the bubble bursted recently, when two gay lovers, Emmanuel Osayemwenre Aghasomwan, a young Benin Christian second son of a family of four in his mid-twenties and Ahmed Sule, a Muslim also in his early twenties, an eldest son of a well known, influential and wealthy merchant in the Community were caught red-handed in the illicit act.
A very reliable anonymous source, who wouldn’t want his identity exposed for fear of victimization that narrated the whole story, said the gay relationship between the duo, has been on for quite a while. But on that faithful weekend of Saturday, March 23, 2019, a birthday party organized by the Community youth leader, Comrade Toby Ebo was going on in the area.
The gay lovers, both Electrical/Electronic and Business Administration graduates of the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi respectively also attended the party. But after much excitement, both of them entered an uncompleted building in the area to have their dirty, inhuman and unacceptable immoral fun as usual.
Unfortunately and unknowingly to the gay lovers that they were already sighted by some youths, who were also hiding and hanging around smoking Indian hemp nearby. They tip-toed into the uncompleted building and got hold of them, as they could not escape. In the process, there was a serious fisticuff and in the ensuing melee, Emmanuel Osayemwenre Aghasomwan got the slightest opportunity to escape. While Ahmed Sule who was unlucky, got overpowered and beaten to a pulp as no one came to his rescue during the attack.
When the Muslim fanatics heard about the incidence, they immediately went in search of Ahmed Sule, who they eventually found lying unconscious, inside the uncompleted building they were attacked. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
As the news of the death of Ahmed Sule filtered into town and his family house, his father Alhaji Baba Adamu Sule, who could not control his emotion and temper, quickly mobilized some angry Muslim thugs. The treacherous looking Muslim thugs, armed with dangerous weapons immediately swooped on the Aghasomwan family house.
But on getting to the house in anger of not meeting their main target at home, they dealt mercilessly with some few occupants who couldn’t escape. In an attempt to find out what the matter was, Emmanuel’s aged grandfather, an octogenarian, Pa. Steve Uwuigbe was locked up inside the house and set ablaze. Before leaving the scene, they vowed to get the fleeing Emmanuel Osayemwenre Aghasomwan dead or alive, wherever he may be in the Country.
Thereafter, the armed thugs came back early morning the following day, hanging around still searching for their target. Also men of the Ugbekun Divisional Police Headquarters have been patrolling the area in search of the same Emmanuel to come and face the wrath of the law.
An inhabitant of the street also revealed that all other inhabitants of the street have since been living in perpetual fear of the unknown. Many have even fled the area as any known relation or close person to Emmanuel is a potential target and victim.
Moreover, it was also reliably gathered that the Ugbekun Community Elders, cult youths and native doctors in the Community are also desperately in search of Emmanuel Osayemwenre Aghasomwan dead or alive, for daring to defy the traditional laws of the land. Which is capable of bringing calamity to the land if not found and used as sacrificial lamb to the ancestral shrine, according to the custom.
The late Ahmed Sule’s father, not still relenting have also vowed according to the close source, that as far as his own son Ahmed is no more, then Emmanuel can never live on mother earth too, saying he will use all resources and available means within his reach to actualize his goal.
It will be recalled that the two highest policy making bodies in the Country, the Houses of Senate and Representatives have since legislated against the illicit act which the Federal Government thereafter outlawed. It is also customarily forbidden all over the Country.
Even during the era of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as President of Nigeria, all effort for the then American President, Barrack Obama to cajole and persuade Nigeria to key into the legalization of gay relationship law failed. Just simply because it was generally rejected by the people and the two major religions, Christianity and Moslem.
While some tribes and rural communities like Ugbekun Community in Edo State completely forbids, even before it was formally outlawed by the Federal Government. And if caught in the act, traditionally the person(s) is outrightly sacrificed for the traditional “Ovia” ancestral deity. While the purnishment by law if found guilty is death penalty or life imprisonment depending on the gravity.
As at press time, the whereabout of Emmanuel Osayemwenre Aghasomwan is still unknown, since that fateful day of the incidence. Some of his close church members and the pastor have secretly told our reporter, upon interview that the threat on Emmanuel’s life from all angles, the police, deceased father and the traditional community is much and wonder how he can survive it.
However, when contacted, the Divisional Police Officer of Ugbekun Police Division, Superintendent (SP) Agidi Adenola, confirmed the story. Saying the police have since stretched it’s dragnet and are seriously on the trail of the escapee gay lover, Emmanuel Osayemwenre Aghasomwan and has been declared wanted, while investigation is still ongoing.
