BENIN CITY – motions rained freely in Odionle street, off Independent Road, off Sakponba Road, Benin city as some Muslim pastoralists sprayed bullets on an elderly woman, Mrs. Rose Osawe leaving her in her own pool of blood.
Some sympathizers who thronged the scene could not control their emotions as they wept and wailed uncontrollably over the incident which occurred on September 15, 2015.
According to a reliable family member, Osayande Ibrahim who spoke with our correspondent on December 5, 2019, late rose death was not unconnected with the recent religious matter on the basis that her her son, Joshua Osawe converted from Muslim religious to Christianity.
He explained that on that fateful day, some Muslim fanatics stormed their family house where they met Joshua’s mother (now deceased).
It was gathered that the late rose explained to them, saying that her son only converted to Christianity adding that there was nothing more to it.
Our correspondent further gathered that her explanation fell on deaf ears as the angry Muslims opened gun fire at her killing her in the process.
It was further learned that the angry Muslims who dropped a threat message that they will come back and eliminate other members of the family until Joshua Osawe is found and killed, further threatened that Joshua’s cousin, Osayande Ibrahim will know no peace in the community as they have spread their dragnet across the state and beyond towards apprehending Joshua for murder.
As at the time of filing this report, it was gathered that Joshua and his sister escaped to an unknown destination for safety and cover.
