BENIN CITY- The second term bid of Governor Godwin Obaseki received a boost recently as some leaders and executive members of the African Action Congress (AAC) decamped to the People Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking on behalf of the leaders and executive members of the AAC in Oredo and Egor Local Government Areas respectively, Mr. Imafidon Oziegbe said they decided to decamp to PDP to support the second term aspiration of the state governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Rt. Hon Comr. Philip Shaibu because of the popular saying that “one good turn deserves another”.

He also added that they decided to lead more of the AAC supporters to PDP to support the governor because of his development agenda for the majority of the Edo people against the few individuals who continue to strive for personal benefits rather than the good of the larger majority of the people.

Mr. Oziegbe subsequently noted that they are joining the People’s Democratic Party to show their unrelenting support for the governor, seeing the development he has brought to the state, adding that it would be natural to give Mr. Governor their support to ensure he does more for the people.

Receiving the African Action Congress (AAC) defectors into PDP, local government chairman, the reinstated organizing secretary of PDP, Oredo Local Government chapter, Chief Gabriel Aiguosatile said it was the right decision from the leaders and executive members to support good governance.

Chief Gabriel Aiguosatile added that “PDP is home to all”, pointing out that “Governor Obaseki has done tremendously well for the state and the only way to let the light continually shine in Edo state is to give the governor hundred percent support”.

“I want to let you know that I don’t bow down for people for nothing, I don’t bow down to people because of money. I want to let you know that I bow down to people with integrity. We bow before Governor Obaseki because of his handwork in Edo State”, Chief Aiguosatile added.

Earlier, Chairman of PDP in Oredo, Oduwa Igbinosun and other party leaders assured all those willing to join the party of their total integration.
