BENIN CITY- The unwanted destruction and loss of lives caused by the recent EndSARS bloody protest in Benin City has began to cause untold hardship on the people, because of the palpable fear of the unknown.

What could have informed the peaceful protest that later turned very bloody that led to the complete unrest and insecurity to the extent that even police stations were burnt completely. Even the prison yards in Oko and Sapele Roads as the facilities were touched and inmates released.

Angered by the development, the Nigeria Police Authorities and the Edo State Government have declared a man hunt for the suspected perpetrators mostly youths of the dastardly and criminal act against the government, immediately the curfew imposed by the street government was lifted.

The President, His Excellency Muhamadu Buhari has decried the wasting of lives and rate of destruction of public properties in all the various states that the protest took its toll and also lamented the heavy sum of money for the replacement that were not budgeted for.

Top of the list declared wanted by the police are Jeffery Osarodion Irorere, an alleged ring leader of the protest in his Oyenmwosa Street area in Benin City, Godwin Taofik, Oboh Okorodu (Danger Man), Osaro DPO Eguavoen and about seventeen others currently on the run.

The Edo born Jeffery Osarodion Irorere, a furniture maker in his mid thirties, according the investigators, was one of those who spearheaded the prisons attack during the protest as he allegedly mobilized the youths in his Oyenmwosa Street area in Benin City with his popularity to commit the havoc

While Godwin Okoro (A.K.A Danger man) was another criminal, that has been in the police wanted list, mobilized the youths in the Ugbiyoko area of the City for the attack.

A police source who craved anonymity as he was not authorized to speak to the press on the issue narrated that Jeffery Osarodion Irorere was targeted by the police on October 4, 2020 at about 9:00pm with a view to get him unwares, but was lucky to escape, as the only male youth in the house.

According to our investigation, he went to be staying with his brother at Auchi in Edo Worth. On getting the hint, the police also went after him, but couldn’t also get him there as he was said to have left the place after a brief visit.

All attempts made by the Esigie Police Divisional Headquarters to track Jeffery Irorere in the Oyemwosa Murtala Muhammed way area and Auchi proved unsuccessful, a situation that made the police to declare him wanted.
