Benin City: The Edo State Police Command has invaded a lesbian hideout in Azagba community in Benin city were more than seven people accused of being a lesbian were arrested while some others escsped.
The police working on intelligent report invaded the Community at about 2am in the morning to make the arrest after two failed attempt at arresting the lesbians.
Fortunately for the police one of those arrested simply identified as Chiagozi Yvonne Nwudu is said to be on the police watch list for the act of lesbianism after she mysterously escaped in Yanegoa, Bayselsa State capital early last year, while her partner Victory John Umoeya was not so lucky as she was arrested.
The police got relaible information following a tip off from the members of the community on some suspected lesbians and their neferious activities in an apartment in the area.
Scrutinising those arrested by the police at the community, it was discovered that Isoken Aghama who accommodated them has escaped, but some of those wanted by the police are amongst those arrested in the apartment.
Prominent among those arrested is one Bosede Odion, known as “Lady B” who escaped from Police custody during the End-SARS riots that crippled the country security network last year for more than two weeks leading to burning down of several police stations and release of arrested criminals and jail breaks in Edo state and several other states and cities across the country.
Chaigozi Yvonne Nwudu lover, Victory John Umoeya jumped bail after she was arrested for lesbianism and subsequently declared wanted by the police and a manhunt for her was intensified in other to apprehend her. She is still on the wanted list of the police.
Information reaching us indicates that Chaigozi Yvonne Nwudu was caught pants down in an undisclosed Hotel in Balyesa State with her lover one Victory John Umoeya. They were held by hotel security, unfortunately, before the arrival of the police, Chaigozi Yvonne Nwudu escaped while Victory John Umoeya was handed over to the police.
Report had it that following the beating recieved by Victory John Umoeya after her partner escaped from angry hotel staff and neighbors she collapsed. The officers who came to effect the arrest of the lovers were accused of negligent and conspiracy.
A reliable source who doesn’t want his name mentioned in print said Victory John Umoeya spent 10 days in detention before the police released her on bail following the plead by the lawyer contacted for her release due to her failing health condition and on the agreement that she will return for further investigation pending when the case will be charge to Court.
“Her father Rev. John Umoeya who was contacted in regard to his daughter involvement in the act of lesbianism, refused to intervene but rather disowned her and threatened to ostracize her like her elder sister. Mrs. Blessing John Umoeya mother to the accused stopped at nothing for the release of her daughter, as she hired a lawyer for her release and accused the police for the maltreament of her daughter and the hotel management for exposing her daughter and her friend to public danger.
“Her partner Chaigozi Yvonne Nwudu who was arrested in her hide out in Benin City, the Edo State Capital along with six others in Azagba community has been charged to court, while the police is still in search of Victory John Umoeya, who after her release disappear and her whereabouts is yet unknown. The surety who stood for her bail has been arrested and remanded.
“Her father who was disappointed following the shameful behavior of his daughter said she was a good girl but influenced by her elder sister Hope John Umoeya who he said has been disowned and ostracized for bringing shame to the reputation of the family.
The source said Rev. John Umoeya vowed that Victory her daughter will certainly get same treatment like her elder sister because he didn’t train them in such way. He added that he has no business with them urging the law to take its course, that he cannot be a father to lesbians.
Mr Umoeya noted that his only regret is sending them abroad, as he thought doing so will make them more responsible, well behaved and with decent character, but not knowing that they will bring shame and the evil of the western world to bear “Homosexual”. He said since her escape I have not heard from her.
The police in Edo state has hailed the community leaders for exposing criminality in their domain and urge the public to always remain vigilant and give useful information to the police as it will help reduce crime in the state.
The police who vowed to stopped at nothing in bringing any forms of criminality, including homosexual offenders to book appeal to the public to help with relevant information that would led to the arrest of those on the run especially the masterminder, Isoken Aghama who used her apartment to promote the activities of lesbian.
