BENIN CITY – In recognition of the contributions to the development of education in the state and empowerment of students, the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board has commended philanthropist and “entrepreneur” Dennis Ainabel Iseghohimen.

It would be recalled that Mr. Iseghohimen had donated brush cutters to some government schools in Esan West Local Government Area (LGA) of Edo State in furtherance of efforts to ease the clearing of weeds and bushes within the premises of the schools. A brush cutter is a powered garden or agricultural tool used to trim weeds, small trees, and other foliage not accessible by a lawnmower or rotary mower.

In a letter from SUBEB, signed on behalf of the Executive Chairman by the Public and Private Partnership Officer, Akinlehin Temitope, the board thanked the leading philanthropist and community supporter and offered its warmest regards.

The letter which is specifically in respect of the donation to Imule Primary in Esan West LGA on March 18, 2021, read in part, “The Board lauds your generous initiative of complementing her efforts in ensuring quality basic education delivery in Edo State and also looks forward to more partnership in this regard.”

Mr. Iseghohimen thanked the Education Board for the gesture noting that he received the letter of commendation with great joy and deep appreciation. He revealed that he has a deep love for Illeh community and Esan land in general and would continually seek to improve the quality of life in the communities across Esan and thus make the residents happy.

The philanthropy enthusiast prayed that God would grant the members of the communities their good heart desires along with good health and wealth so that they can continue to contribute to the development of the state. He noted that the development of the community must not only be the responsibility of the government but of every member of the community whether they reside there or not.

He ascribed all the glory to God for his help and pledged to persist in seeking ways to contribute to the socio-economic development of Esan land and Edo State.

Mr. Iseghohimen called on other well-meaning individuals to support the government’s effort to improve the quality of life in communities across not just Esan West but also the whole Edo State.

The philanthropist had earlier renovated Eresoyen Primary School in Uhogua, Community in Edo State and is constantly looking for new options to give back to the community.
