In Nigeria today, there is a growing concern on the rising wave of youth involvement in same-sex practice and violation of the Same-Sex marriage Prohibition Act of 2013 as many of the violators either succeed in escaping being arrested or often times are lynched to death before the arrival of law enforcement officers.

The practice in present day Nigeria is viewed with strong aversion as many perceive the act as sacrilegious enough to incur the irrevocable wraths of ancestors of the land upon innocent members of the community where such desecration had taken place.

In view of this, individuals particularly youths who are heterosexual in nature have taken it upon themselves to practice this evil “taboos” in secrecy in order to avoid prying eyes by going to remote places or indulging in the act in seclusion and eventually avoiding being caught up with the law against violation of the Same-Sex marriage Prohibition Act 2013.

The case however is not the same for Patrick and his partner who were caught kissing in middle of the night in his car after returning from a night club session with so much fun and entertainment.

The estatic mood of the night was however short-lived when on September 18th 2021 Patrick and his partner Courage Enogieru Osemwota were caught in the car by a girl believed to be his partner sister who held a torch-light to the car and instantly took pictures as evidence to demonstrate the evil her brother was eternally lost in .

All hell was let loose as Patrick sensing trouble immediately drove away abandoning his partner Courage Enogieru Osemwota in the lurch to face his recent woes and fears as a crowd of neighbours and family gathered to unleash terror on him by rubbing pepper on his genital and beating up with wooden stick until he became unconscious and was locked up in a basement till morning of the following day .

For many who gathered a night before at the scene to unleash their venom on a young man caught kissing another male almost in the middle of performing homosexual practice, residents and family members were left in bewilderment and shock to find out that the young man who was locked up had escaped and was no where to be found.

Meanwhile, it was gathered that community leaders had on the following day invited law enforcement officers to the community and planned handing over the fleeing suspect over for further investigation before it was discovered that he had already escaped from the basement.

Recent findings in the community revealed that the fleeing suspect Courage Enogieru Osemwota and his partner Patrick had relocated to Lagos State in order escape arrest and prosecution.

As awareness against the evil and sacrilegious practice and the violation of the Same-Sex marriage Prohibition Act of 2013 continues to spread in every nook and cranny in different communities in Nigeria, certainly there seems to be no hiding place for any violator of the law as anyone who acts directly or indirectly in contravention of the Same-sex marriage Prohibition Act 2013 risk a minimum of 10 years imprisonment in jail upon conviction.
