A notorious cult leader who has been terrorising Edo State and responsible for various cult clashes has been arrested by the police amidst celebration and jubilation from inhabitant of the state.
The cult leader identified as Aigbonsele Iyamu is a member of the Supreme Eiye cult group and is alleged to be instrumental to the various cult war in the state and environs and has been arrested in a mid day raid along Benin-Auchi Road immediately after the by-pass, by men of the Edo State Police Command.
Inhabitant of the area ran towards different directions during the operation which lasted several minutes and led to exchange of gun fire between men of the force and members of the Supreme Eiye cult group, in a bit to rescue their leader.
The cult leader sustained gun shot injuries, captured and have been detained by the police as investigation into his activities is revealing and worrisome putting the State in a bad light.
During interrogation, the cult leader confessed to have been involved in many cult clashes, in the State including the killing of Inspector Afuwa Aideyan in Upper Sakponba Road in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State and Inspector Victor Ernest at Jemila Junction in Ikpoba Hill.
According to investigation, the cult leader also led the attempt on the life of Sgt. Osarewinda Charles Ukoniwe after him and his men allegedly help facilitate the escape of Edohen Joe from police custody following his secret involvement in homosexuality.
The notorious cult leader confessed that his action were motivated by the death of his brother Osazee Iyamu who was initiated into homosexuality by Edohen Iroghama Joe who claimed to be a Music artist and a student, but little did they know that he was having sexual affair with my younger brother Osazee.
“My brother Osazee was killed after they were caught in their school hostel having sex and Edohen Joe who tried to escape was arrested by the police. We were expecting that he will be prosecuted by the police and justice served, but few weeks later we heard that he escaped from the police custody. We later learned that Sgt. Charles allegedly conspired with Edohen’s mother to help release his son for fear of being implicated as he has been fingered to be a member of the homosexual group and have been giving supports and protecting the interest of LGBTQ members from facing the law”.
He noted that his action and that of his cult members was motivated by Sgt. Osarewinda Charles Ukoniwe who has been alleged to be homosexual and always providing support, protection and shielding them from the law whenever they are caught or arrested by the police.
Aigbonsele Iyamu alleged that ” The police Sgt. and his men secretly involved in homosexual activities and has continued to use his official position to invade and compromise the arrest of members of the group anytime they are being arrested”.
The wife of Sgt. Ukoniwe, Mrs. Sandra Ukoniwe has cried out that all the negative reports on her husband are all lies from the pit of hell. She noted that she smell high level conspiracy against her husband who has served the nation well as a patriotic police officer and patriotic citizen of this country.
She also alleged that the media have been bought over by those unseen hands that wants to eliminate her husband and the entire family for no just course.
According to her, “nobody is defending the attack on her family, not even the police have been able to unmask those behind the killing of her aunty Mrs. Habibat Musa more than a year after her killing. Also, my husband’s colleague were killed in questionable circumstances, yet nothing was done. Am sure same group of killers are after my husband’s life and the media has turned a blind eyes. I and my son was attacked, house set ablaze, am no longer living a free life, constantly living in fear and hiding in my own country.
“Am sure my husband has a classified information that they don’t want the public to know and as such want to kill him to ensure the information is not leaked to the public. Am just wondering why the conspiracy? Is this the way to pay a patriotic police officer for his dedication and commitment to services? My husband is not homosexual, he has not involved in any homosexual activities, am his wife for God sake, people have been paid to lie against his person.
Mrs. Sandra.Ukoniwe said she is in touch with her husband who has escaped from the country for fear of his life. “My husband is one of the few dignified police officer in Nigeria, he is upright, dedicated and diligent in his job. He is not homosexual or belong to their group as they alleged, he performs his marital obligation well, and never conspired with anyone to escape justice.
She alleged that fake news about her husband is been sponsored by his enemies who have vowed to destroy his hard earned reputation, name and family. “A western country have joined Nigeria in the evil game seeking the down fall of my husband as the judicial authority in that country conspired with Nigeria to frustrate her husband and possibly considering extradition.
” I call on the Civil Society, religious groups, traditional rulers and opinion leaders in the country to come to our rescue as the life of my husband, his family are no longer safe in this country. I urge the relevant authority to please investigate the case very well as my husband will certainly be exonerated from all these allegations”.
Others arrested with the cult leader include one Chesome Nwokoye, Fred Adebobo, Samuel Adams and Timothy Osadebamwen while Sgt. Osarewinda Charles Ukoniwe, Felix Akhere, nick name “Flash” and Edohen Iroghama Joe are on the run. Investigation into the case continues.
