The family of a young man simply identified as Osasuwen Raymond Ighiriaro of no.6.Omonuwa Street off St Saviour Road in Benin City has reportedly disowned him after he was spotted in a viral group picture with gay members.

A statement signed by his father Pa. Ighiriaro on behalf of the family and made available to newsmen in Benin City, stated that the family unanimously agreed to disown Osasuwen Raymond Ighiriaro after viral picture of him having close ties with gay members surfaced online.

Pa.Ighiriaro further said that Osasuwen Raymond Ighiriaro was raised as a Christian with high moral standards but wondered his sudden deviation and gradual descent into the practice of homosexuality as a way of life without any member of the family having any former link to the unholy and sacrilegious act.

Speaking further, Pa.Ighiriaro stated that following the suddden release of an online viral picture of 30 gay members in Delta State, his son’s name suddenly came up as being under investigation.

He said “The police informed us recently when we went to the police station to lodge complaints against him (Osasuwen Raymond Ighiriaro) in respect of a recent investigation into gay activities involving over 30 gay suspects in Delta State.”

“The online viral picture of 30 gay members only opened more can of worms implicating my son as a secret and long time gay suspect that is currently on the police wanted list .” Pa. Ighiriaro added.

Our correspondent was reliably informed that after a major arrest of some suspected gay suspects had taken place in mid June 2021 and confessional statements taken from those arrested reportedly implicated Osasuwen Raymond Ighiriaro and others as gay members in a viral online picture that was posted .

Meanwhile, on January 18 2022, a photo of over 30 gay suspects in a public gathering in a remote hotel in Delta State went viral instantly jolting the Nigerian Police into investigation.

The circumstances surrounding the veracity of the claims however was corroborated as confessional statement earlier obtained in 2021 from some arrested members of the gay community within further led to another recent major arrest.

Meanwhile, it was gathered that his family in Benin City had on February 10 2022 had reportedly lodged a complaint at the police station after confirmed facts emerged that Osasuwen Raymond Ighiriaro was secretly linked to a gay group .

His name was said to have instantly struck a chord at the police station immediately his family arrived at the police station to lodge complaints over Osasuwen Raymond Ighiriaro secret involvement in same-sex practice as the family led by Pa. Ighiriaro was clearly briefed on the secret activities of some gay suspects to which Osasuwen Raymond Ighiriaro was notoriously linked as uncovered by a covert police operation.

Meanwhile, the Edo State Command of the Nigerian Police, according to a recent police statement, has said that Osasuwen Raymond Ighiriaro and 5 others namely Tony Ajaero, Osamuyi Kelvin, Musiliu Atanda, Kennedy Ojo and Louis Osato had been declared wanted for their involvement in same-sex practice with secret gay activities.

It will be recalled that the Nigerian Police recently conducted a covert operation following the emergence of a viral online picture of 30 gay suspects at a remote community in Delta State which later led to the arrest of some unconfirmed number of gay suspects while Osasuwen Raymond Ighiriaro and others are still on the wanted list of the Nigerian Police.
