The last may not have been heard of the impasse created by the sudden disappearance of Kennedy Omoregie and his kinsmen after absconding in desperation with his family from Ogan community in Uhunmhode local government area of Edo state following the vacant office of the chief priest occasioned by the death of his father , Pa.Omoregie .
Recent findings revealed two years after his sudden disappearance from the community, that a new Chief priest was installed thereafter following several sacrificial appeasement made to the ancestors and gods of the land in the wake of extreme calamities and doom which prevailed over the community following the sheer defiance of Kennedy Omoregie to occupy his late father’s role in the community.
The Nigerian Observer earlier reported in the wake of the crisis between Kennedy Omoregie and his kinsmen that he (Kennedy Omoregie) and his immediate family were exposed to life threatening attacks within and outside the community from the on set of all the episodes in the crisis.
It will be recalled that following the installation of a new High chief priest Osahon Ogie in Ogan community, a recent pronouncement was made in the community spelling extreme doom for every members of Kennedy Omoregie’s family.
According to the recent pronouncement, any member of Kennedy Omoregie’s family including his wife and children must be offered as sacrificial appeasement to the ancestors and gods of the commmunity at the “Oguedion” ,community shrine for acting in sheer defiance against the will of the ancestors.
The Nigerian Observer was reliably informed that by the recent pronouncement, his extended relatives living in the community and within neighbouring communities have all relocated for fear of being offered to the ancestors as sacrificial appeasement.
Meanwhile, youths of Ogan community are by the recent pronouncement mandated to be on the look out for the fleeing Kennedy Omoregie and his family members within and outside the community and report to the new chief priest on the progress thus made as the life threatening pronouncement of the chief priest ,according to sources within the shrine , was to serve as deterrent to others while making up for the years of unbearable calamities and woes his (Kennedy Omoregie) defiant decision had brought upon the people of Ogan community.
A visit to the family house of Kennedy Omoregie in Ogan village revealed a deserted building hurriedly left in abandonment by family members who flee from the community for fear of being offered as sacrifice to a deity at the community shrine (Oguedion).
Relics of a falling building were still standing at the family house of Kennedy Omoregie two years after he absconded with his family as it will not be long anymore for the remaining structure standing to fall apart completely.
