BENIN CITY – The Vision Pioneer, Throneroom Trust Ministry, Kafanchan, Kaduna State, Apostle (Dr) Emmanuel Nuhu Kure has said that the christian community in Nigeria does not have a blue print for the redemption of Nigeria.
The blue print which he described as a joint action, he also identified as hope, growth, development and growth plan for developing the nation on the right path.
Speaking as a Guest Speaker at The 2022 Easter Prayer Breakfast in Benin City, he queried, “What is CAN’s blue print for Nigeria; what is CAN’s blue print for the next election?
The Easter Prayer Breakfast with the theme, “Politics and Governance in a New Nigeria: The Strategic Role of the Church,” was organised by the Edo Easter Prayer Breakfast Fellowship.
According to him, “Anybody who is committed to the progress of Nigeria must be ready to make sacrifice and not complaining while others are preparing for election.
He said that any one interested in driving the destiny of the nation to its destination must be sensitive to the voice of God and be careful in ascribing messages of God.
He urged christians to brace up for the next general election, noting that “if politics corrupt Pastors, let them not win” elections.
While drawing inferences from the case of former Governor of Benue State, Rev. Jolly Nyamen who was last week granted presidential pardon, Apostle Kure said that many christians in authority have derailed because of material wealth, while many in authority are guilty of complicity in misgovernance.
Advocating christians involvement in politics Because of what he considered as capacity to change the direction of politics in Nigeria, he said that “You need righteous men to push righteous people to get political positions.”
He also expressed the need for ministers of God to ensure that their members embark on voters registration, as well as register with political parties so as to be actively involved in decision making, beginning at the grassroots.
He noted that Nigeria cannot prosper without a new constitution, saying that the present one is not only obsolete, but irrelevant to the nation.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Edo Easter Prayer Breakfast Fellowship, Deacon Majemite Onosode said that church leaders and individual christians have a role to play in the emergence of the right leadership in Nigeria, considering their numerical strength.
He noted the lobsidedness in appointment into political positions, because “The body of Christ in Nigeria went to sleep.”
