IGBANKE (ORHIONMWON) – The Ojebor family of Igbanke in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State have raised an alarm over threat to the life of one Ojebor Onyeka Optimist, a member of the family by some persons suspected to be members of the Ogboni secret cult.

Optimist was said to have incurred the wrath of the people following his refusal to enlist into the secret cult as the eldest son of late Pa Ojebor Osunde, an elder in Igbanke community.

Recall that the family had raised a similar alarm over his elder brother who later died on November 20, 2021 under a mysterious circumstance.

Speaking with newsmen in Igbanke, a member of the family and a devotee of the Apostolic Church Nigeria, Mr James Osunde said that the problem started for the family few months after the burial of his late brother who until his death on April 12, 2020 was a member of the secret cult.

Immediately after the burial, he said that some persons in the community approached Sunday Ojebor (now late) to be initiated so as to take the place of his late father, a member of the cult.

His refusal did not go down well with the people after several attempts to convince him to consent to the initiation failed.

This, it was gathered caused a disaffection which culminated in the threat to Sunday’s life until he died mysteriously.

According to James, every family member thought that the death of Sunday would bring the matter to an end until attention was shifted to Onyeka whose whereabouts was unknown as at press time.

Mr James therefore called on the relevant authorities to come to the aid of the family.
