Benin City :The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has further strengthened the collaboration with Edo State government through the Edo Taskfoce Against Human Trafficking (ETAHT) by paying a courtesy visit to the Edo Taskfoce Against Human Trafficking ETAHT office.

The team  led by the Senior Programme Co-ordinator in Migration Management, Lagos Sub-office, Mr. Victor Lutenco was received by the Chairperson of the Edo Taskfoce Against Human Trafficking ETAHT,  Prof. Yinka Omoregbe SAN, at the Migrant Shelter, Benin City.

Mr. Lutenco said the purpose of the visit is to further the collaboration between both parties in seeking further possible ways in providing lasting solutions to the issues of irregular migration of our young persons in the society and also creating more visible pathways for people to travel in the correct and proper way.

In  her response, Prof. Omoregbe welcomed the team and re-emphasized the State Government commitment in ensuring that the irregular migration of our youth especially in Edo State is completely eradicated and integrating the returnees back into the society by rehabilitating them into various forms of training and possible employment.

Mr. Lutenco was gifted with a Bini bronze status of Queen Idah by ETAHT Chairperson, Prof. Yinka Omoregbe SAN.
