During the mop-up exercise carried out at the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital (ISTH) on Monday, 13 February 2023, the acting state coordinator, National Health Insurance Authority, Edo State chapter, Ehannire Theodore Osas, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Medical Director of ISTH, Prof. Ifedeyi with his management as part of the collaborative efforts to strengthen the relationship between NHIA and ISTH.
One of the outcomes of the meeting was that an agreement was reached to incorporate ISTH retirees under the Group, Individual and Family Social Health Insurance Programme (GIFSHIP).
It was a fruitful deliberation as the NHIA team was received by the director of pensions and director of administration before proceeding to the office of the CMD.
Earlier, the team led by Theodore Ehannire had paid a sensitization visit to the NYSC camp at Okada, Edo State. The team also visited to the NYSC state coordinator on Thursday, 9 February 2023, while on Friday, 10 February 2023, their visitation train headed to the office of the Hon Commissioner for Health in Edo State.
