ASABA: News of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), declaring Bola Ahmed Tinubu president elect of Nigeria has drawn mixed reactions from many residents of Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.

Tinubu of the All Progressive Party (APC) was declared winner by INEC with a total of votes of 8.8 million votes, defeating his main opponent Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the People Democratic Party who polled 7 million votes while Peter Obi of Labour Party came third with 6 million votes.

The news to many was a shock, anger and disappointment while some were indifferent. Only a few were joyous and thanked INEC for a job well done.

Andrew Oghenekvwe, a resident of Udu said that the result was unexpected, adding that he never imagined anyone would returned the ruling party with all the hardships it imposed on Nigeria.

Anthony Olawale, a youth, said the result was a disappointment, adding that he did not have a problem with Tinubu as a person because his administration in Lagos State was a top notch, but that age had changed all that and could not do much for the nation.

Also baring his mind on the issue, Ben Onome believed that Nigeria would triumph over its challenges with the capable leadership of the president-elect.

Phillip Ejiro said that the result was unfair to Nigerians who were seeking for a paradigm shift in the administration of the country.
