The 80-89 set of graduates of Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State, is organizing its third re-union to create a suitable forum for members in Nigeria and the diaspora to interact with one another.

Mr Peter Nwadei, President, in a release in Asaba, Delta State, said their mission is to partner with the institution’s main Alumni, public and private organisations and academia in order to realize the vision of the association.

Tagged ‘Auchi oldies 80-89, Abuja 2023’, the two-day re-union slated this weekend will see members from all over the world converge on Abuja on 5th May for a major interaction and get-together. Then on Saturday, 6th May, there will be visits to orphanages followed by a gala night at Wells Carlton Hotel and Apartments, Asokoro, in the evening where funds will be raised for several projects, according to Charles Omosun and Lady Bose Ikhanoba, Chairman and Secretary, respectively, of the 13-member Planning Committee.

The vision, according to Nwadei, is to build a reputation for Intellectual Thought Leadership.

The Secretary General of the association, Emma Daco, stated that the first reunion was held in the ancient city of Benin in 2019, while the second one was held at Dallas in the USA in 2022.

The group was created on the 28th of April, 2019 by five friends – Florence Agbejule, Flora Alofoje, Emmanuel Daco, Delphine Ikpasaja and Oghale Ajise – in Lagos. It has a seven-member executive committee and several other personalities.
