A middle-aged man, Austin Ejovwo, former Vice Chairman of Okolor Community in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, has allegedly murdered his lover, Felica Akpomeria, for reasons yet unknown to members of the community.

The deceased, aged 45 years and a single mother of four children, hailed from Ubogo Community in the locality. She was found lying in a pool of her blood with multiple wounds on her body in the apartment of the suspect at Okolor.

According to one Mr. Emmanuel Dio, a neighbour of the deceased, the lady was discovered dead by her teenage son who got suspicious after making several calls to his mother whose phone was switched off.

The son had gone to the house of the alleged killer of her mother thereafter but noticed something fishy when he saw blood stains in the sitting room.

He was reported to have looked around the house, only to find the lifeless body of his mother in the bathroom with multiple wounds.

He had raised an alarm that attracted members of the community who searched everywhere for the alleged killer to no avail.

The incident almost resulted in a crisis between the Okolor Community and the deceased community of Ubogo, but the timely intervention of the Austin Emaduku-led administration of the Union of Udu Communities (UUC) sustained the peace in the troubled communities.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe, through a phone call, confirmed the incident, stating that the suspect had been apprehended and taken to the Police headquarters in Asaba for further investigations.
