Recent days have seen the confusions and controversies on the street of X formerly known as Twitter by Nigerians regarding the report that 62% of Nigerians believe that Nigeria is moving forward under the administration of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

However, the result was obtained from a survey conducted by the strategy and intelligence services of CMC Connect LLP, a public and perception consulting and strategic communication firm, in partnership with Analysts’ Data Services and Resources (ADSR) on the analysis of the first 60 days of the president in office.

As gathered by the Nigerian Observer, online survey was the instrument used to get the views of Nigerians with the adoption of structured questionnaires with satisfied and not satisfied as the answers to be picked from.

The survey which had 1,714 respondents was sampled from the six geo-political zones in Nigeria and in the verted reports released by the team in charge, criteria and questions followed which were determinants of the total results were seen.

The questions asked covered different subjects.

First, it concerned the planned opening of more land borders. According to the research, Nigeria has 86 official land borders and the president plans on re-opening more soon. This leaves 86 percent of Nigerians satisfied with the decision though there is still 14 percent of Nigerians who are not happy about the development soon to come.

Second, concerning the planned removal of electricity subsidy, 56 percent of Nigerians have shown their dissatisfaction if it were to happen in view of what is currently happening in the country caused by the removal of fuel subsidy. Since gas is a major input in electricity generation, electricity bills will go up tremendously if the subsidy on electricity is removed. However,44 percent of Nigerians are satisfied with it.

Furthermore,79 percent of Nigerians are satisfied with the planned implementation of N8,000 to cushion the effect of subsidy removal on Nigerians. The notification to pay this token was in a letter by the President to the House of Representatives where he plans to digitally transfer N8,000 to 12 million low-income Nigerians for a period of 6 months. Meanwhile, this leaves a small 22 percent of Nigerians unsatisfied.

Lastly, the government plans to release fertilizers and grains to 50 million farmers and households. Agriculture has always been an important sector of the Nigerian economy that makes them be on the top of the game among other countries in the world. The president plans to release fertilizers and grains to farmers to aid their work and also as a source of encouragement.

In the report, 86 percent of Nigerians are satisfied with the efforts of the government in enhancing the efforts of farmers in the country though 14 percent were still not satisfied.
