The Nigerian Senate officially confirmed the appointments of Mr. Ola Olukoyede as the new chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Mrs. Halima Shehu as the National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA) on Wednesday.

The decision by the red chamber came after an extensive screening process of the nominees in a Committee of the Whole, conducted in Abuja on Wednesday. The nominations were initially proposed by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, who, in a letter sent on Tuesday, requested the Senate’s consideration and approval of these critical appointments.
