The Actors Guild of Nigeria(AGN) President, Dr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas, MON, has issued a press release addressing the health challenges faced by one of Nollywood’s beloved actors, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu.

In the statement released by the body, Dr. Rollas expressed his deep concern for the health of Mr. Ibu and the commitment of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) to support him during this difficult time. He personally visited the actor in the hospital to assess his condition and consult with his medical team.

Dr. Rollas confirmed that Mr. Ibu’s condition, while serious, is one that can be treated. He emphasized the importance of unity within the Nollywood community and discouraged engaging in disputes or controversies regarding Mr. Ibu’s health.

The release also addressed rumours of potential plans to take Mr. Ibu abroad for medical treatment, cautioning against hasty decisions without a full understanding of his medical requirements.

Dr. Rollas emphasized the need to refrain from making public statements on social media without complete knowledge of the situation and encouraged supporting Mr. Ibu and his family discreetly.

The AGN has established the AGN Trust Fund for such purposes, overseen by the esteemed actress Joke Silver, to ensure the credibility of contributions.

The public was urged to make contributions directly to Mr. Ibu’s official bank account for his healthcare expenses.
