Academic complex of Steady Flow College of Education, Akparabong Community, Ikom LGA of Cross River State, has been destroyed by fire, consuming academic facilities worth millions of naira.

The facilities destroyed by the fire incident include lectures halls, toilets, offices, with several valuables worth millions of naira, totally destroyed by the inferno.

No one knows the cause of the fire, but speculation among the community residents is that the fire entered the school premises after a passerby mistakenly discarded a cigarette filter he had finished smoking in a nearby bush close to the perimetre fence, which scaled through the perimetre fence and destroyed valuables and several other facilities.

However, an eye-witness, Ada Agbor, said it was bush fire that jumped into the school premises and destroyed the facilities.
