Nigerian sensational Tobi Amusan and Ese Brume showed outstanding performances at various events in Lievin, France, and Houston, United States.
Amusan clocked a time of 7.83s to win the women’s 60m hurdles at the meeting in Lievin, France.
She triumphed over Laeticia Bapte, who displayed a Season’s Best (SB) of 7.97s and Sarah Lavin in 7.98s.
Meanwhile, Brume achieved a Season’s Best (SB) leap of 6.84 metres, grabbing first spot in the women’s long jump at the Howie Ryan Invitational in Houston.
Her exceptional show piece elevated her to the fourth position on the 2024 season top list. Brume dominated the competition, surpassing her opponents by nearly a metre, with Genesis Griffin finishing second with a distance of 5.91 metres.
Nigeria now has two women leading the world in the women’s Long Jump, occupying number 1 and 4 on the global list.
