Twenty students drawn from Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency were admitted into Bellarks Polytechnic, Kwale, courtesy of the scholarship scheme floated by Dr Charles Olisa, DESOPADEC Commissioner representing the Ndokwa nation. Political leaders, traditional rulers, the leadership of the NUT, youth leaders, representatives of market groups, among others, were present at the event.

At the brief but colourful ceremony which held at the event hall of the polytechnic, Dr Charles Olisa said he places high premium on education hence he does not see any sacrifice as being too much to make in order to get people educated.

He said he will continue to place high premium on the education of our young people and enjoined the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the opportunity given to them.

Meanwhile, dignitaries from among those who graced the occasion poured encomiums on Dr. Charles Olisa for the thoughtful and sacrificial initiative. Political leader and member of the Delta State Elders and Advisory Council, Chief Emmanuel Onyeuku, described the initiative as novel, noble and nice.

He said it was the kind of empowerment our youths needed in these times. He charged the beneficiaries to take their studies seriously.

The president of Delta State Council of Presidents-General and member Delta State Elders and Advisory Council, Prince Igwe Nzekwe, also lauded Dr Charles Olisa for giving people, whose hope of getting tertiary education had been deferred, the reason to be happy.

In the same vein, the chairman of Ndokwa East Council of Traditional Rulers and Odiologbo of Ibrede kingdom, HRM Ena Augustine Oghenejabor, praised Dr Charles Olisa for the scholarship scheme.

He described it as an empowerment that will arm the beneficiaries for a lifetime. Lady Fatima Ajusah, the NUT chairman of Ndokwa East LGA also spoke along the same line and expressed happiness in the fact that we still have leaders like Dr Charles Olisa who are contributing significantly to the education of our people.

The Rector of the polytechnic, Dr Solomon Egbule, called on other political leaders and people of means to partner with the school for the education of our youths as exemplified by Dr Charles Olisa.

He described the commissioner’s devotion to education and desire to give back to society as inspiring and thanked him for his love and kindness.

The elated beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to Dr Charles Olisa and assured him of justifying his investment in their education.
