The Big Brother Naija season 9, themed ‘No loose guard’, kicked off on the night of Sunday, 28 July 2024.

As usual, the housemates were announced by BBNaija host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, live on DSTV channel 198 and GOTV.

This edition of the show is expected to last for the next 10 weeks and the winner is set to go home with cash prize, an SUV and other sponsored prizes.

The housemates, who came in pairs, turned out to be an assortment of diversely interesting personalities.

An aunt and her niece, Nne and Chinne, who took on the acronym ‘NDINNE’, said, “We are here to show them that blood is thicker than water.”

This edition boasts two sets of identical twins – male and female.

The female set of twins, ‘WanXHandi’, when asked how they met, said, “We met in our mother’s womb. We do everything together, so what better way to come to Big Brother’s house if not together. We are ready for challenges. We are bringing entertainment.”
