IBADAN — A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Mr. Kehinde Olaosebikan, has declared that President Bola Tinubu’s second term in office will usher in sustained national growth and development, describing his leadership as strategic and transformational.
Addressing journalists in Ibadan, Olaosebikan expressed optimism that by 2031, Tinubu would hand over to a competent successor with the same calibre of leadership excellence that produced former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola.
“Just as he identified and groomed Fashola in 2007, President Tinubu has the capacity to ensure a seamless transition to another visionary leader who will continue Nigeria’s upward trajectory,” he said.
He dismissed opposition against the president’s second-term ambition as “baseless, divisive, and anti-development,” stating that the constitution permits two terms and the North stands to gain from Tinubu’s continued leadership.
The former Chief Press Secretary to late Oyo Governor Lam Adesina highlighted Tinubu’s record in Lagos, pointing to exponential economic growth as evidence of his leadership prowess.
“From an internally generated revenue of N600 million in 1996, Lagos now rakes in over N100 billion monthly, with over N1.3 trillion generated in 2024 alone. That transformation began with Tinubu’s policies,” he said.
Olaosebikan maintained that Nigeria is on a path to greatness and urged Nigerians to support the president through prayers and patriotism.
He called on political agitators to drop their bitterness and rally behind a leader whose policies, he argued, are positioning the nation for enduring success.
