The Nigeria National League (NNL) has issued a firm directive to all participating clubs to ensure the submission of their registration forms on or before October 23, 2026, warning that failure to meet the deadline could jeopardise their participation in the 2026/2027 season.
With the submission deadline fast approaching, the league has urged club administrators to treat the date as a matter of urgency, complete all outstanding documentation and ensure that their registration forms are submitted within the stipulated period.
The NNL has also fixed October 30, 2026, as the final date for the collection of players’ licences, leaving clubs with separate deadlines to meet ahead of the new campaign.
Chief Operating Officer of the NNL, Danlami Alanana, said the deadlines were designed to ensure proper organisation, administrative compliance and a smooth commencement of the season.
Alanana stressed that there would be no extension of the deadlines, calling on all clubs to act promptly and avoid unnecessary delays that could affect their eligibility for the new season.
He further disclosed that any club that fails to meet the stipulated requirements would be liable to an additional fee of ₦500,000.
The league’s message to clubs is clear: October 23 is the key date for registration submission, and no club should wait until the last minute to comply.
Meanwhile, the 2026/2027 NNL season is scheduled to kick off on October 31, with a curtain-raiser at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, where Heartland FC will host Crown FC of Ogbomoso in a Conference A encounter. The fixture will be the only match on the opening day, with other games scheduled to follow a week later.
