Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen carried the hopes of Galatasaray’s fans but sadly he disappointed them on a day that matters.
Osimhen returned last week after injury spell and instantly found the net in the Turkish league but last night he was marked out as Barcelona whitewashed Galatasaray 4-1 Infront of their fans.
While Osimhen remained anonymous, Barca’s Lamine Yamal, though didn’t score, he contributed to two of Barca’s goals.
Incidentally, It was Galatasaray that scored first through Batrakov in the 34th minute but Cancelo cancelled the advantage two minutes before half time.
In the second half, Yamal began his magic, two assists to Fabian Lopez in the 50th minute and another for Anthony Gordon three minutes later saw the away team up 3-1 before Karim Adeyemi got Barca’s fourth goal in the 65th minute.
32 years after, Galatasaray are still yet to beat Barcelona while Osimhen could also not increase his goal tally again the Spanish champions since he scored for Napoli in a 1–1 draw in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg on February 21, 2024.
