Amid a growing wave of renewed cult clashes which recently claimed several lives in Benin City, an ex-member of the Black-axeconfraternity(Neo BlackMovement)) identified as Gilbert Solomon Amenaghawon has reportedly gone into hiding after he narrowly escaped death in September when rival cult group laid ambush for him .

It was said that Gilbert Solomon Amenaghawon during his undergraduate days in Ambrose Alli, University, Ekpoma Edo State, rose in ranks to the top hierarchy of his cult group but reportedly had to cut ties with members of his cult group shortly after the completion of the mandatory one-year National Youth Service Corps(NYSC) after graduation.

He was said to have instantly come under fierce attack from members of his cult group shortly after he started working with a multinational company in Benin City as he reportedly had to cut ties and stopped attending regular meetings with members of his cult group.

Meanwhile the Edo State Command of the Nigerian Police in a statement made available to journalists in Benin City stated that one Gilbert Solomon Amenaghawon, a staff of Guinness Nigeria PLC Benin City was reportedly attacked by suspected Eiye confraternity members who laid ambush while he was returning from work in September .

It was said that the suspected rival cultists reportedly fired gunshots at Gilbert Solomon Amenaghawon immediately he emerged from a corner within his neighborhood as the rival cult members came out from their hideout upon sighting their target who narrowly escaped death as bullets reportedly fired at him missed target (Gilbert) allegedly leading to a teenage girl being instantly hit on the spot by the bullet .

The statement further stated that while imminent threats from members of his cult group to eliminate him heightened for deliberately cutting ties and also refusing to further associate with the cult was reported at Ugbor police station on September 20, confirmed report further stated that other rival cult groups within his neighborhood immediately took advantage of the strained relationship existing between him and members of his cult group to launch a fierce attack against him.

Meanwhile, as members of his cult group and other rivals fiercely continue to lay siege for the fleeing Gilbert Solomon Amenaghawon in a desperate bid to eliminate him, he was said to have reportedly gone into hiding after he was thereafter cautioned by the police authorities to stay away from his cult members while the Command launched an investigation into the alleged threats and gunshot attack against the fleeing ex-member of the Black-axe confraternity.
