Residents of Ekpoma community are counting their loses following the invasion of some masked men suspected to be Islamic jihadists.
Sunday Ibhagbosoria Adudu hails from Ekpoma in Edo State, Nigeria. He is a young farmer and a missionary preacher of the Gospel.
His trouble started when he converted two sons of a high profiled Muslim scholar to christianity. Ibrahim and Mohamed Bello, sons of Alhaji Mustapha Bello were reportedly drawn by his faith, love and kindness which got them turned from their Islamic background toward Christ.
They began to question, to drift, until Islam felt like chains they no longer wished to wear. And in that quiet betrayal, the faithful felt a wound too deep to forgive.
The attackers cloaked in dust and rage reportedly targeted the young missionary named Sunday Ibhagbosoria Adudu for daring to convert two Muslim brothers to Christianity in the locality.
Hell was reportedly let lose on June 4, 2022, when some Fulani herdsmen invaded their farms and murdered sunday’s father and siblings, with properties worth millions of naira destroyed.
They visited the home of the missionary’s parents at night, destroying it and beating everyone in sight and demanded to see Sunday in the midst of “Allah ak bar” chants that set the peaceful community on panic mode.
The islamists working in league with the murderous Fulani Herdsmen are reportedly still in search of Sunday Ibhagbosoria Adudu and have been attacking farmers, killing the men and raping women.
But Sunday Ibhagbosoria Adudu and his mother Mrs Justina Adudu, managed to escape the attack, but the islamists have vowed to eliminate him.
Sunday’s mother who had been hiding in a another village has got no idea of the whereabout of her son. She has reported the case to the security agencies in Ekpoma who have assured they would do something about her missing only child having lost the rest to the vicious attack on their home.
