BENIN CITY- Some members of the dreaded cult groups in some parts of the Benin metropolis, mostly in the St. Saviour axis of the Upper Sakponba area are at it again.
Despite all efforts and stringent laws put on ground by the Edo State government to curb the menance of incessant bloody cult activities, their nefarious activities have continued unabated.
This time, the story has been reported about a young innocent man who is even not a member of any of the groups that was mistakenly killed due to simple resemblance of his elder brother, that is their target, who they didn’t meet at home at the time of the attack.
A very close family source who spoke to our correspondent, said that the whole story started with two childhood friends Paul Oguns and Nelson Okhundede who both attended Harvard Education Centre in Benin city.
Unfortunately for Nelson Okhundede, he later after their graduation became a wrong target of a cult group known as Eiye Confraternity, not knowing that his childhood friend Paul Oguns all along has been a secret member of the opposite cult group, Aye Cult Group, who both have been in conflict because they, Nelson and Paul are always seen together thinking they are both members of Aye.
Luckily for Nelson on the fateful day of January 7, 2016 during the wee hours of the day, some members of the Eiye confraternity group fully armed stormed his house at No 7, Imafidon Street, Off St Saviour Road, Ikpoba Okha L.G.A., Benin city and attacked his lookalike four years younger brother, Osarumwense Okhundede to death, thinking he was the person they are looking for.
But on discovering it was the wrong person that was attacked, they vacated the scene immediately in anger, and vowed they will get their real target Nelson Okhundede dead or alive anywhere found.
Because of the fear after the failed attack on his life he was then harboured by another friend of theirs, who soon asked him to leave for his safety, because since while there, he was always hiding inside the house because of the fear of being sited by any of the dreaded cultists looking for him and to avoid the house also from been attacked.
Another reliable anonymous source revealed that when life became very unbearable for him as somebody who is on exile in his own home, he had to relocate to somewhere in the northern part of the country, where at least he was not known. However his elder brother Nosakhare Okhundede when contacted in his hideout confirmed that everybody have deserted his family house as whoever known to Nelson have suddenly become targets to the dreaded cult members who always come around day and night.
He added that since that very day of the attack his younger brother Nelson have not been seen around by anyone. He pleaded with anybody whoever come around him should please help to protect his life from these blood sucking cult members who have no recourse to life whatsoever.
