INEC approves 50 observer groups for Kogi, Bayelsa guber

ABUJA – The Independent National Electoral Commission has approved fifty groups to observe the forth-coming Kogi and Bayelsa governorship elections scheduled for Saturday, 21st November, and Saturday, 5th December, 2015 respectively.

In a letter signed by the Director of Elections and Party Monitoring Department (EPM), Bala Shittu, forty three (43) out of the approved 50 organizations are domestic, while seven (7) are foreign.
 
The approved groups are to obtain, complete and return Form EPMC 002 for the two elections from the Elections and Party Monitoring Department, INEC Headquarters, Maitama, Abuja between 8.00 am to 4.00pm (Monday to Friday) from 2nd to 23rd October, 2015.
 
The Commission has also requested that the photographs of members of staff to be deployed by approved groups in the two states along with their names be submitted in hard and soft copies (CD drive using JPEG) to the Election and Party Monitoring Department, INEC latest Friday 23rd October, 2015. The Commission emphasized that “late submission will not be entertained”.
 
According to the Commission, the dates for distribution of Observer kits in the two states will be communicated in due course, adding that further enquiries should be directed to the Director, Elections and Party Monitoring Department.
