For those who have visited some countries especially West African Countries, you will understand that Nigeria is a very good nation in respect of everything, no matter what our detractors and enemies say to the contrary. I was very shocked as a secondary school student in March 1969, the very month Gen. Yakubu Gowon, our then Head of State wedded Mrs. Victoria Gowon, nee Zakariya, to see that Nigeria was ahead of Ghana in respect of everything visible. Then, I accompanied Stationery Stores Football Club of Lagos to Accra, Ghana. My several other visits as a young busy body of a football fan to other African countries gave me the opportunity to know that Nigeria was well ahead of our sister African nations, especially the Francophone African countries where movements within their countries are restricted and monitored by governments. Between 1972 & 1974, I accompanied some elderly missionaries to several African nations and still discovered that Nigeria was a great nation. I was already over fifteen years of age when Major Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu and other soldiers ousted the Tafawa–Balewa NPC/CNCNC government in January 1966. The ensuing Major–Gen Aguiyi Ironsi’s government only lasted six months and was replaced by that of the then Lt. Col. Yakubu Gowon that was in the saddle for good nine years. Gen. Murtala Ramat Mohammed came into power 29th July 1975 and was overthrown too after six months and replaced by Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo, who handed over to meek-as-a-lamb weak and inept Alh Shehu Shagari who gave us a very corrupt, purposeless NPN government. Since our independence in 1960 till date, we have had fifteen governments/heads of state, both civilian and military.
From eternity past, God made man, human beings His greatest and best creature far above land, trees, animals, water etc. There is no earthly possession that we can compare with human beings, and that is why God has given Nigeria the high number of human beings in Africa. Also, the greatest possession God has given us is land. Nigeria has the best land in Africa still with lots of natural and mineral resources, fertile enough for farming. He has also blessed us with profitable variety of everything. We have about two hundred and fifty ethnic groups and we live in peace and harmony as big as we are, whereas little Lebanon that is about the size of Balyelsa State cannot live in peace till date. Right now, there is civil crisis in Cameroun. God is a Nigerian and He lives in Nigeria, that is why He gave us President Muhammadu Buhari and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, and we are enjoying more peace than our other African nations, in spite of our large size in land and population. With our great population, if we all bend down and work, Nigeria will be rich. Let’s stop waiting for white-collar jobs. We are the problems, not President Buhari. Ninety per cent of Nigerians don’t appreciate God for His blessings upon Nigeria. Let’s continue to show appreciation and gratitude to God for the palpable peace we are enjoying in this nation now.
I first visited kano- city in 1964 in company of my mentor to see Mallam Aminu Kano the then leader of Northern Elements Progressive Union, NEPU. To the best of my knowledge, since 1964 till four years ago, there had always been periodic incidence of the killings of Christians and burning down of their Church buildings even when Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwakwanso was governor in kano twice, 1999 to 2003 and 2011 to 2015, heaven did not fall and Nigeria still remains. Despite the fact that Kano had always been the most populous state, it has also been the Hell fire of Christians in Nigeria. The same thing goes for Adamawa State, where there had been killings of Christians. Those who lived in Kano before President Buhari and Gov Ganduje came on board, virtually lived there, but always on their toes. If the elders and youths of Kano can repent and have a change of heart today, it will be better for them and all of us. After all, Sokoto, Katsina, Kebbi, Zamfara, Niger and some other Northern States are the most peaceful states in Nigeria.
When the enemies of Nigeria and of APC/Buhari planned to make this government unpopular, they gave the evil wing of Miyetti Allah the demonic contract of using their cattle rearers to attack and kill innocent, defenceless farmers in Benue, Taraba, Plateau, Nassarawa and other states. In February 1966, we had “Araba Aware.” It was not Gen Aguiyi Ironsi who instituted it. It was the same “Araba Aware” that assassinated him. In 1980 we had Maitasine that almost destabilized Shagari’s government. It was not Alh Shehu Shagari that instituted it. Maitasine had his strongholds in Kano and in Nasarawo-Yola. Shagari was not behind Maitasine. In 2011, we had Boko Haram, it was not Dr. Goodluck Jonathan that instituted it. Now we have these murderous herdsmen moving into every nook and cranny of Nigeria, killing and maiming innocent Nigerians. It’s not President Muhammadu Buhari that has instituted it. His political opponents gave the contract to the evil wing of Miyetti Allah, who in turn recruited these naughty herdsmen to perpetrate these heinous crime. A very close look will reveal to you that most of these herdsmen are not Nigerians. These non-descent herdsmen are from Cameroun, Niger Republic and Chad Republic. I have spent almost all my life in the North. I can say equivocally that Hausa is my first language, that I could speak, read and write. No Nigerian Hausa herdsman can do this dirty criminal job being done by these, hired Tuaregs and Bororos from Niger, Difa, Agades, Niger, Chad and Cameroun. I know what I am talking about.
Coming to the nitty – gritty of President Muhammadu Buhari’s soon – to – come woeful defeat of Alh Atiku Abubakar, we should understand that overwhelming majority of southerners will vote for President Buhari because he has just four more years to be in the saddle. GOD FORBID, if we foolishly vote for Alh. Atiku Abubakar, he will complete his eight years and hand over power to whom he wishes. He is a man you cannot trust. So, southerners especially, south-easterners will have to wait for another eight years instead of just four years. With President Muhammadu Buhari in the saddle, we know where we are going to, but from records available to us, nobody can understand Alh Atiku Abubakar. As a Christian, we know that righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to every nation. Just because President Muhammadu Buhari is fighting corruption or official stealing even some Judas Iscariots and sons of Scava amongst Christians in Nigeria hate him. They prefer corruption to righteousness. They should remember that the position of Judas Iscariot is higher than the position of Archbishop or Bishop of today. Judas Iscariot and the sons of scava did not mind the issues of morality or righteousness, all they needed was money, filthy lucre. Thank God that one hundred Archbishops in Nigeria today cannot help Atiku Abubakar. He will kiss the dust of defeat with Olusegun Obasanjo and Ibrahim Babangida. Olusegun Obasanjo in his eight years tenure, only allowed us to use GSM telephone that already existed in Togo. He could neither fix our electricity nor our roads. He then needed a third tenure, that was never given to him. Now he still needs a third tenure through his son, Atiku Abubakar. As for the unfaithful Ibrahim – Babangida, he ruled for eight years, set-up a very weak democratic structure and ran into hiding in Minna after robbing Chief M.K.O Abiola and all elected politicians of their rightful dues. We cannot expect any thing good from these two serpents called Obasanjo and IBB who have been deceiving Nigerians. We should be wise enough to vote against these three serpents of Obasanjo, IBB and Atiku. Worse still, Atiku Abubakar ran to the Archbishops and Bishops who have universities, whose church members cannot attend for extra – high cost of school fees. Archbishops and Bishops who have no control over worshippers in their Churches, whose women and girls parade themselves in our streets half-naked and dress as prostitutes with their men as thugs. Judas Iscariots and sons of Scava can only help themselves, they will even abandon Atiku Abubakar when a higher bidder comes to town. It is a pity that our Archbishops and Bishops go for trillions of Naira and crowd – gathering plus millions of branches of their worldly organizations these days. They have forgotten that when God destroyed the world with flood, it was only Noah, with his family of eight persons that were in the Ark, a single Ark.
In 1993, Ibrahim Babangida and Bashiru Tofa of NRC, picked a clergyman, an ordained Reverend to be Bashiru Tofa’s Vice-President, in spite of the Muslim – Muslin ticket of Chief M.K.O Abiola and Alh Babagana Kingibe of the SDP. They defeated IBB and Bashiru Tofa of NRC. I was a serving member of the House of Representatives then. I remember the clandestine grassroots campaign we used then and Abiola won. Let Obasanjo, Babagida and Atiku Abubakar’s men run to the pope, President Muhammadu Buhari will still win this election by the special grace of God.
Finally, if we look at the top notchers of APC like President Muhammadu Buhari, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, we shall notice that they had been patriotic, selfless and sacrificial leaders while those in PDP, Obasanjo, Ibrahim Babagidda and Atiku Abubakar have been the opposite, being self -serving leaders who believe that the entire nation belong to them alone. May God almighty help us to vote out Atiku Abubakar and PDP. Again, APC governors are the best governors nationwide in respect of everything you can think of. There’s no PDP governor that is near the governor of Edo State in performance today. Salaries are paid as and when due and there’s palpable peace and tranquility in Edo State.
