Abuja – The Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila received with a deep sense of loss, the news about the passing away of Professor Molara Ogundipe-Leslie, who was an academic colossus and literary pundit with superlative cognitive endowments.
In a press release signed by Adesoro Tolu Austen, the Chief Information Officer, Hon. Gbajabiamila mourned Prof. Ogundipe Leslie who was renowned for being a championship of gender mainstreaming in national planning and cultural orientation as strategies of national development and inclusiveness.
“She was a teachers’ teacher, nay, more than that, a role model that epitomised the argument of feminine resourcefulness and brilliance”.
“Her surpassing cognitive dominance reflected in her writings and research are peerless and occupy a huge and indelible place in world scholarship”.
According to him, Mr Speaker acknowledged one of Prof Leslie landmarks, the Foundation for International Education and Monitoring, which was dedicated to research in pursuit of her excellent theories in development education.
She will be thoroughly missed by her family, to whom the Speaker sends his heartfelt condolences, by friends and by the universal academic community. Nigeria has indeed lost an academic giant.
