A lorry loaded with beans was yesterday intercepted by the Joint Task Force (JTF ) and upon thorough search was found to be carrying arm under the bags of beans.
According to the JTF who acted on a tip off, they stopped the lorry and asked them to off load all they have in the lorry, and they discovered a cache of arms hidden under the bags of beans.
The lorry which took off from Abajana and headed to Yakura market in Kano had three people in the lorry when the JTF stopped them i.e. the driver, the owner of the goods and and the owners boy.
It was gathered that the JTF have been on their trail ever since, as it was alleged that the driver transports arm to different parts of the country.
Investigation revealed that the occupants of the lorry resisted arrest and engaged the JTF in a fight. And in the process the boy by name Umoru ran away while the other two were arrested.
As at the time of filing this report, the owner of the goods, Momoh Aliu, the driver and the owner of the goods were arrested while Umoru Jimoh is wanted by the Police to explain his level of involvement in the matter.
