UDU (Delta State) – Life seems to be cruel for the family of one Rouna David Otagba ‘m’, an indigene of Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, following his sudden disappearance from home.
It was learnt by our Crime Correspondent that the disappearance of Rouna could not be unconnected with alleged threats to his life by suspects members of the dreaded Niger-Delta avengers, a militant group.
Speaking with our Crime Correspondent in Warri, a family source who craved for annonymity narrated that the missing Rouna David Otagba was amongst the five persons recruited from Udu into the militant group.
She maintained that he, Rouna, who was abi nitio hesitant to joining the Niger-Delta Avenger was coerced into the group following several death threats from the hierarchy of the group.
“Rouna David Otagba was informed by the Youth Chairman of Udu sometimes in January 2016 that he was amongst the five youths in the area considered for membership of the newly Niger-Delta Avengers militant group”.
“But Rouna constant refusal to partake in the unwholesome activities of the militant group after they were already fortified by a chief priest pitched him against the group and on several occasions escaped death bywhiskers in the hands of the group.
“The recent deadly attack on Rouna David Otagba by members of the Niger-Delta Avengers forced him to disappearance to an unknown destination, hence we the family members decided to declare him missing” the source disclosed.
Meanwhile, as at the time of filing in this report, the whereabouts and safety of the missing Rouna David Otagba remain unknown
