EKPOMA – Two students of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, who share same hostel have been caught indulging in homosexual activities on campus.
Reports reaching our news desk indicate that one Kalulu Henry and one of his male cousins were caught in the heat of passion, making love, an act which contravenes Same-Sex Act, signed into law on Monday January 13, 2014 by President Goodluck Jonathan.
According to the reports, Kakulu Henry and his cousin on the pretext of studying together in the hostel, on the fateful day, were caught having sexual relationship by some co-students who raised alarm and threatened to call the police to arrest and prosecute the duo.
Another close source who pleaded anonymity said that the duo, out of fear of being sentenced to 14 years imprisonment, pleaded for cover-up to protect them from being arrested and prosecuted.
“However, some of the co-students have been using the incident to threaten and blackmail Kakulu Henry and his partner. They have been using the incident to obtain and extort money from them on regular basis, threatening to expose them to the public if they default,” the source said.
“Eventually, they reported the matter to the police who consequently declared Kakulu Henry and his partner wanted to explain their level of involvement in an act criminalized by law.
“As we speak, Kakulu Henry have not been coming to school. It is believed that the duo have escaped into hiding for fear of arrest and prosecution over the act which criminalises homosexual activities and gay relationship in the country”, the source added.
As at the time of filing in this reports, the whereabouts of Kakulu and his gay partner could not be ascertained.
