BENIN CITY – The Edo State Police Command have again declared a young man, Unuefe David wanted. He is wanted to explain his level of involvement and connection in same sex activity.
It was reliably gathered that David who have been on the wanted list of the Police since 2016 on allegations of his membership of a Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual and Transgender (LGBT) group, escape as some group members were arrested in a wild party they hosted in a residential area in Benin City in May 2016.
It was further gathered that the Police arrested about four members of the group, who on interrogation, confessed David and Joseph Ugbo as their members.
A family source told The NIGERIAN OBSERVER that David is not a member of any gay group.The source stated that David, who has a proper upbringing, was brought up in a Christian home
The family source, who craved anonymity also alleged that, one of David’s friends, Joseph Ugbo, was the person that invited him to the party. They were in the party when Police, acting on a tip – off raided the residential apartment. Joseph and David luckily escaped Police arrest.
After years of been on the Police wanted list, Joseph was arrested on April 11, 2021 in another same sex crime incident in Benin City.
Investigation by our reporter reveals that David, who has not been seen, since the Police raid in 2016, was implicated in same sex activities by Joseph during Police interrogation. He confessed that David was his gay partner.
Same sex activity is a Federal Offence. Section 214 criminalizes ” carnal knowledge” against the order of nature with a penalty of fourteen years imprisonment. It applies to sexual intercourse between men. Section 215 criminalizes attempts to commit the offence prohibited under Section 214 prohibition.
The whereabouts of David Unuefe his unknown since 2016, as he has fled persecution from the law and the community, where he will perform fetish sacrifices to appease the gods of the land, as homosexuality is a taboo in the land
