BENIN CITY – The family of Odijie residing at Upper Uwa Street, Benin City have cried out for help over the activities of human traffickers who are after their son’s life for his refusal to do their biddings.
A family member and brother to Odijie Augustine Ufuoma, Odigie Bright in a written statement to the Police stated that his brother, Augustine’s journey abroad was made possible by his boss,Mr Mike in 2017. On getting to his destination,he was told by one Osas, the brother to Mike that his purpose of bringing him to Europe was to sell drugs.
The statement reads that when Augustine refused Osas who is the main sponsor of the trip started harassing and threatening Augustine in Europe and his family in Nigeria. Osas told him that if he refuses to sell hard drugs in Europe, his family in Nigeria will be killed.
Osas has been threatening Odijie’s family and on January 20, 2020, about five thugs acting on the orders of Mr Osas attacked Odigie Bright at his home and beat him to a state of unconsciousness, he was rescued by neigbours, who revived him before the arrival of the Police.
Since the incident, the family is now living in fear as the threat to their lives is real and they are afraid of their safety and that of their son, Odijie Augustine Ufuoma, who is not in Nigeria.
