BENIN CITY- Over her alleged involvement in an act suspected to be bisexuality, the Edo State Police Command, Chief Priest and Elders of Aruosunogunamen Village in the state have renewed their hunt for One Mrs. Imadiyi Maureen Oghomwen.
The now on-the-run Maureen who according to sources escaped from the shrine of the Aruosunogunamen Chief Priest was alleged to have been caught while making love with her love partner, one Becky Uwaifo (now deceased), sometime ago by Becky’s boyfriend who later raised the alarm.
Recall that the Police and the people of Aruosunogunamen had earlier declared Maureen wanted in connection with the alleged bisexual act,
Speaking with our Crime Correspondent on the issue, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the State, DSP Moses Nkombe, said that the police decided to renew its search for the bisexual suspect with a view to prosecuting her in court.
He disclosed that the several attempts made by the police to locate her were not successful, adding that some relatives of the suspect said to have aided the disappearance of Maureen have been arrested.
DSP Nkombe, maintained that the command will continue to search for Maureen until she is arrested.
Also, Elders and Chief Priest of the community it was gathered have vowed not to relent in their search for the bisexual suspect with a view to making her appeased the gods of the land as same-sex and other amorous relationship are considered taboos in the community.
The Chief Priest, Pa. Ebonoto Ifas, particularly revealed that the community have spread their dragnets across the nooks and crannies of the country and even beyond in search of the fleeing Imadiyi Maureen Oghomwen.
He appealed to anyone who may know the location of Maureen to contact him or any elder of the community, lamenting that the alleged sacrilegious act committed by the suspect has continued to ravage the people.
Attempts to get comment from relations of the suspect met a brick wall as calls and texts messages send to one Pa. Unu Fabiyi, said to be her paternal uncle were not answered nor replied.
