BENIN CITY – The circumstances surrounding the disappearance of one Amos Irabor who was being pestered to join a dreaded secret cult, the Ogboni confraternity as a result of his father’s demise who was a ranking member is still causing apprehension, pandemonium, panic and fear among families and friends/welwishers.
Trouble it was gathered started for Amos when his father, Pa Irabor passed away and his uncle, Ebele Irabor who is also a member of Eiye confraternity, insisted that Amos must undergo the necessary initiation rites with a view to joining the occult group in replacement of his late father.
The development it was further learned did not go down well with Amos who vehemently rejected the idea citing his Christian religious faith as his reason. This is even as Amos had passionately pleaded with his uncle to reason with him.
According to Amos’ sister, Angela Irabor who narrated the incident to journalists in Benin city, her brother, Abraham Irabor was on December 19, 2018 murdered under misterious circumstance with a note beside his lifeles body declaring Amos as the next target, a development she said was not unconnected with why Amos had disappeared from town and has not been seen.
She further disclosed that some faceless armed men with alleged intention to kill Amos if found anywhere in the country have continued to issue threats to his life, hence her plea to relevant authorities as well as good samarithans to have compassion on Amos wherever he might have been seeking assylum.
According to her, the matter has reported at the police station for further investigation.
