A middle-aged man, identified as Izekor Happy, who took to his heel, has been declared wanted by the police over his alleged complicity in gay practise leading to the death of his lover, Lanre by some boys
suspected to be cultists.
A source, who spoke with crime reporters, when carrying out diligent investigations into the matter, said that trouble started with Izekor Happy as he was accused to have been responsible for the death of his
gay partner, Lanre, a 25-yr-old, Uniben undergraduate, saying that they both of them came into close contact when he (Izekor Happy) declined his membership from Independent Peoples Of Biafra, IPOB, relocated from Port Harcourt to Benin City, where he was received and started cohabiting with the said deceased friend, who then lured him
into gay practice.
The source said that Izekor Happy was, before he relocated from Port Harcourt, a member of the independent People of Biafra, IPOB, who had been agitating for succession and that after the members of IPOB had altercation with both the Federal Government and the state government, which led to unusual protests which rocked all the cities in South East, especially the abrupt arrest of their perceived leader, Nnamdi Kanu, including Port Harcourt, he relocated in September 2020 and was received by his friend, who was a final year student in the University of Benin and harboured him in his house.
The source explained that while Izekor Happy was staying with his friend, he told him that he would want to get a room apartment to enable him start his own life in the city, but as the reception was being appreciated, despite the efforts of his (Lanre) parents to disengage him from the house but to no avail, adding that on the
fateful day, he (Izekor Happy) decided to follow his friend to school where some group of boys led by one Chuks, confronted him by asking what his relationship to Lanre was and in answering in affirmation, he (Izekor Happy), told them he was his friend, but the defiant boys, particularly Chuks, did not believe as they suspected that he (Izekor Happy) was his (Lanre) gay lover.
Based on that they warned him to stay clear from him but his friend, Lanre later told Izekor Happy that the leader of the boys was one Chuks and that he also practice gay and that he was asking him (Lanre) to be in a relationship with him, stressing that his refusal did not go down well with chuks and as such, threatened to kill him,
especially in view of the fact that is a well-known cultist who had been involved in serial killings in the campus.
He noted that it was at that point he advised him (Izekor Happy) to be extra careful since the said chuks continually disturbs him (Lanre) but that he could not report his conduct to either his parents or the school authorities as it is a criminal offence to raise contending issues of gay practice in the country before the police or any other relevant authorities.
Maintaining his points, the source said that sometime last month (June 2021) Izekor Happy came to the house to discover the lifeless body of Lanre on the pool of his blood and as he was on his way being rushed
to the nearby clinic by him (Izekor Happy) to resuscitate his ailing life, he (Lanre) started telling him (Izekor Happy) that it was chuks that was trying to killg him and before he made the last statement, he
gave up the ghost in the mid way.
The source noted that the death of Lanre further worsened the situation that was already bad, as his parents started accusing him of allegedly responsible for the death of their son, even though it was obvious that he was not in the house, when the deceased was attacked, but was merely trying to rescue him, adding that while the parents were planning to frame him up in a criminal case he knew nothing about, he escaped to avoid being prosecuted unjustly.
His escape further heightened the already devastating situation as the parents of Lanre, decided to bring in the police to implicate Izekor Happy, especially to compel him to be questioned to give clearer picture of what transpired, reiterating that as at press time, his whereabout remains unknown, but an impeccable information source to his disposal revealed that he (Izekor Happy) was being trailed for persecution and prosecution
