Smarting from the 2023 edition of the Enina Theatre Festival which featured unforgettable plays like “Azagidi”, “Mama Bendel”, and “Joromi” that left audiences spellbound, the organisers of the festival have rolled out plans for the 2024 edition.

According to the programme of events seen by The Nigerian Observer, the Enina Theatre Festival 2024 billed for August 29 to 31 is coming with a vibrant celebration of storytelling, culture and the performing arts.

The three-day festival will take place at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub in Benin City under the theme ‘Roots and Routes – Celebrating cultural roots and journeys that shape us – The Edo Story’ and will delve into the Edo Story, exploring the rich cultural heritage that shapes the people’s identity and influences their future.

The Enina Theatre Festival 2024 will take attendees into a world of captivating stories brought to life by talented performers and immerse them in narratives that connect the people to their roots and inspire future generations.

There will be institutional plays for kids with special appearance from Grandma Wura (a theatre musical performance for children, schools and families).

Featuring some of Nigeria’s most renowned personalities, including celebrated theatre veterans and key figures in the creative industry, the festival will offer a series of workshops tailored to a wide range of interests—whether you wish to deepen your understanding of theatre, explore cultural narratives, or simply enjoy a unique experience.
