ABUJA – The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Suleiman Abba, on Monday, warned would-be “trouble makers to have a think,’’ ahead of the declaration of results of the Presidential and National Assembly (NASS) elections.
Abba gave the warning in a statement issued by the Force Spokesman, Mr Emmanuel Ojukwu in Abuja.
The I-G, therefore, charged officers and men of the force to “remain vigilant, steadfast and firm.’’
He advised citizens to go about their lawful businesses without fear and assured that the police was ready to provide round-the-clock security beyond the election.
The police boss commended personnel involved in the election for their professional conduct during the exercise.
He also commended the electorate for their orderly conduct and commitment to peace throughout the election, as well as their unalloyed cooperation with law enforcement officers.
