The Edo State Command of the Nigerian Police has announced the arrest of one Osamuyi Aideyan, a member of Neo Black Movement confraternity (Black-axe) secret cult who murdered a 52-years old identified as Samuel Akporuaro in his private residence on March 20 2007 in Warri.
A statement made available to journalists in Benin City by the Edo State Command of the Nigerian Police stated that suspected cultists, said to be members of the Neo Black Movement (NBM) also known as Black-axe, were reportedly on a manhunt for an erring former member known as Johnbull Akporuaro.
Our correspondent gathered that Johnbull Akporuaro, as a fresh undergraduate of the University of Benin in Edo State, abruptly terminated his educational career and fled immediately after his initiation into one of the most dangerous confraternity in Nigeria over his refusal to execute a rival cult member.
Confirmed sources in his department on campus who craved anonymity, disclosed that Johnbull Akporuaro as an 100level fresh undergraduate student was misled into cultism and initiated into the Black-axe confraternity which he subsequently abandoned later on and fled after refusing to execute a rival cult member assigned to him by his capone(Supreme lieader).
Further investigation however revealed that members of the Black-axe angrily went after him after it was discovered that their rival target was still alive prompting desperate efforts by the cult group to eliminate him in order to stop him from divulging vital Oath of secrecy within the cult group .
However on March 20, a manhunt organized by the leader of the cult group led to the gruesome murder of his father Samuel Akporuaro, a grassroot politician and a retired major in the Nigerian army as suspected cultists reportedly laid ambush for members of Johnbull’s family within his community in Delta State.
Mr.Samuel Akporuaro on the fateful day had just returned home from a social engagement and was driving into his compound when suspected cultists suddenly emerged from a hideout and opened fire on him at the entrance of his compound in Warri in Delta State, it was gathered.
Meanwhile, the statement signed by the Public relations officer of the Command DSP Eze Akan, stated that the Command arrested a member of the secret cult group known as the Black-axe identified as Osamuyi during a raid of criminal hideouts in Benin City, Edo state.
He said that the suspect was assisting the Command in its efforts to arrest other members of group responsible for the murder of 52-years old retired army officer in Delta State.
DSP. Akan further stated that confessional statement taken from Osamuyi revealed that the Black-axe confraternity members were on a deadly mission to eliminate an erring former member known as Johnbull Akporuaro with other members of his family for refusing to execute another rival cult member and abruptly walking out on the confraternity.
He further said that the Command would not rest on its oars until all the suspects who have been declared wanted in the murder of the army major are arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the provisions of the law
