LAGOS – The Lagos State Police Command has called on residents and visitors in the state to be alert on the plans by some people to bomb the state.

Members of the public were enjoined to always report any suspicious move to the nearest police station or security agents around to prevent any unforseen incidence.

The commissioner of police, Mr Fatai Owoseni  made the call during visit to ascertain an information that a letter was dropped inside the toilet of the Principal of Metropolitan College Isolo to the effect that “Certain Boko-Haram elements” have planted bombs in the four corners of the college.

The Command had already dispatched the Anti-Bomb Disposal Unit to the School which carried out a thorough sweeping of the entire college premises and no such bomb was discovered.

The Commissioner of Police who visited the School in the company of Counter Terrorism Unit of the Force in a confidence building visit also to reassure the College Community of their safety.

In a statement issued by the command spokesman.joe offor, Pamphlets on security tips were shared to the Teachers and Students of the Institution.

Meanwhile, the Command also reiterate its earlier appeal to members of the public to be vigilant and conscious of their environment, and also the need to report any suspicious objects to the Police.

The residents of Lagos are assured of adequate security of life and property and therefore advised go about their lawful businesses without any fear.
