The Delta State Security Council has mandated the State Police Command to work closely with the state’s Joint Task Force on Road Tax and Revenue Leakages, headed by Malachi Moye, to rid the state of illegal revenue taskforces, with a view to eradicating their unwholesome activities.

In a letter to the State Commissioner of Police, Ari Mohammed, the Director-General (Security Matters), State Security Council, David Tonwe, expressed serious concerns on the proliferation of revenue task forces in the state.

It stressed that the State Security Council had set up the special committee with the mandate to stop the trend.

The letter, which also copied the Department of State Services, DSS, in the state, further reiterated the state government’s desire to ensure that the illegal activities of revenue touts were put to a stop.

The director-general equally sought the cooperation of the state police command in enforcing the directive.
