The member representing Sapele State Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Awolowo Perkins, has promised to train 21 of his constituents in different trades for six months.
Perkins, who is also the Chief Whip of the house, made the promise when he paid a courtesy visit to Sapele Vocational Training Centre in Sapele.
He said the training, which is coming through his “Reach the People” programme, would be a partnership with the centre.
He explained that the objective of the training was to make the 21 beneficiaries self-reliant and to alleviate poverty and crime in the society.
The lawmaker said that the gesture was one of the many programmes he had lined up to reach the people in his constituency.
