As Edo State prepares to host the seventh edition of the Alaghodaro Investment Summit, efforts are in top gear to showcase transformational investments in the power, agriculture and petrochemical sectors of the state.

This year’s edition is billed to run between November 8 and 12, and would serve as a platform for investors to assess investment opportunities, evaluate their impact on the local economy and also explore opportunities to expand their investment in the state.

Eire Ifueko Alufohai, the Chairperson, Local Organising Committee and Executive Secretary, Alaghodaro Economic Summit Limited/Gte, said the summit is themed “The Edo Story: Creating Shared Opportunities into the Future.”

Alufohai said this year’s event will showcase investment in agriculture, power, and petrochemicals, among others, which spur growth in the state.

Some of these investments include the two modular refineries in the state, the Edo Oil Palm Programme (ESOPP), and the Ossiomo Power Plant.

She further noted that the event which has become a symbol of the state’s vision to become a thriving economic and industrial hub will attract the crème of the nation’s private and public sectors and beyond.

She assured that this year’s edition, being the last summit that will be celebrated under the leadership of Governor Godwin Obaseki, promises to be memorable and exciting, with an array of events that will leave a lasting impact on the state’s future.

According to her, “The activities lined up for this year’s summit 2023 include the Edo Women Conference scheduled for Wednesday, November 8, 2023, which will be followed by the Ancient City Tour and Cocktail on Thursday, November 9, 2023.

“On Friday, November 10, 2023, will be the main Alaghodaro Summit, Muslim Prayers, Award and Dinner, while the Governor’s Golf Tournament, Food Fair and Youth Concert, will take place on Saturday, November 11, 2023. The event will end on Sunday, November 12, 2023 with Thanksgiving Service.”
